The atmosphere carries a certain comforting, nostalgic charm reminiscent of old-school diners crossed with the heart of New Mexican tradition. The décor, a mix of vintage touches and everyday simplicity, echoes stories that have been unfolding here for decades, creating an intimate rhythm that makes each visit feel like stepping into a pause from the outside world.
Mac’s menu whispers tales of classic Latin American and Mexican dishes, celebrated in the rich aromas of red and green chile and the sweet hint of sopapillas drizzled with honey. Whether it’s a morning filled with the comfort of eggs with steak fingers or a lunch plate sending you back for seconds, the food feels like a shared secret passed down through generations—a taste of Albuquerque's heart and home all wrapped up in a quiet, genuine moment of joy.

The steak was dry and overcooked. It seems like the food is getting more expensive there. I've been going there for 30 years. I will still come back because the Chile is awesome and the staff is always sweet.

This lovely little restaurant has existed for decades for a very good reason. Their food is simply divine! I have been coming here ever since I was a young pup, and have made some good memories here over a wonderful meal. The atmosphere is cozy and quaint, like any good little dive joint you might come across on your journeys. The menu is varied and offers a little bit of everything: New Mexican, American and more. It's hard to pick a favorite dish for me. One dish that stood out in particular for me was the Mexican Polish Sausage entrée, which I highly recommend. Bring your loved ones and be prepared for a good and hearty meal.

It’s been 1 month since my visit to Mac’s La Sierra. My life is different after trying this place. I hit a high that day and I’m rapidly plummeting down. Somberly comparing all my next meals to this incredible enchilada plate with steak fingers I had and wondering where my sopapillas are. I’m tearing up just thinking about it. I live 800 miles away but will return someday with a glimmer in my eye, a patter in my heart and the distant memory of the meal that ruined all meals. Everything and nothing is it. It was and is and always will be everything that ever was. July 7, 2025 (our anniversary) (MLS + HS 4ever)

First time at Macs and I can see why it's rated so well. Interior is kinda out of date, but has that old diner feel. The service was great, and the food came out quickly. I was happy with the taste of the food. Kinda felt that the enchiladas were overlooked though. Seemed like they were just filled with a little cheese. Overall a great spot with very reasonable prices.

What a great place for breakfast. Nicole is friendly, charming, and a heartthrob. If I lived here I’d visit her everyday! Great recommendation on the Mexican polish sausage breakfast with sopapillas. Delicious! Highly recommend!

Its no wonder that they been open over 70 years. Amazing food, service, atmosphere, and history. The green chile stew was some of the best that I've ever had. The Super Mac's Combo was was very enjoyable. It came with 3 steak fingers, 3 taquitos, 3 chicken fingers, fries, and a side of guacamole. I would highly recommend Mac's La Sierra Coffee shop

Good ol fashioned comfort food in a vintage setting dripping with charm. Staff knows the biz like the back of their hand and are so friendly. Great value in the food and has incredible variety. Come check out this piece of history. You wont be disappointed

This place is a classic Route 66 place that has been an Albuquerque for years. They serve a variety of food choices from everything New Mexican to steak and Greek. They are old school on their plates. Their cheese enchiladas are my favorite. You still get free appetizer of chips and salsa before every meal and at the end you can finish with a hot, pillowy soft sopapilla. Been going to this locally owned gem for years and both the food and the service has always been excellent.
